We caught up with funnyman Vladimir McTavish to find out a little bit more about him ahead of his show at Brandling Villa in Gosforth on Monday 9th July.

So, tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?
I’m Vladimir McTavish and I have been a full-time stand-up comedian for twenty-five years. At this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, I’ll be doing a show all about my time in the comedy business, entitled 25 Years Of Stand-Up.

What’s the first record you ever bought?
My bother and I saved up all our pocket money for months to buy With The Beatles.  This was in the 1960’s and it cost 32/6 in old money which is about £1.60.

What’s your guilty pleasure musically?
Patsy Cline.

Favourite film of all time?
The Third Man.

Your guilty pleasure film?
Mutiny On The Buses.

If you could recommend one TV series to binge watch, what would it be?
It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

Your favourite book?
The Crow Road by Iain Banks.

Who or what makes you laugh the most?

Who or what makes you sad?
Incontinence .

If you had super power, what would it be?
Being able to open bottles with my teeth.

And finally, you get to play a board game with any three famous people from history, who do you choose and what’s the board game?  
I’d like to play Risk with Donald Trump, Kim Jong Un and Paul Gascoigne.
