Hartlepool indie-rockers Northern Hospitality drop their brand new song Six Feet Underside, a track that is ‘an honest reflection on all the things left unsaid after death and being unable to let go’. There’s a notable change of direction in this track with its grungier college rock vibe akin to bands like Wheezer and JJ72, mixed with the punch of pop-punk outfits like Green Day and Alien Ant Farm and complete with heavy instrumental breakdown sounding like something out of an Audioslave or Guns ‘N’ Roses concert.
The melodic-folk punk offering of b-side Won’t Back Down is also worth a mention with its impassioned vocal, gorgeous strings and anthemic melodies.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, which one would it be and why?
This is a bold question to lead with! Haha. My favourite song changes with each month that goes by, but my gut would go to the classics. I feel like this would have to be Jesus of Suburbia (Greenday), that song is 10 minutes long and changes vibe a good six times. If you’re listening to it forever, a bit of variety would be appreciated.
What’s your go-to guilty pleasure TV show or movie that you watch when you need a pick-me-up?
When you’re on a brutal hangover, the type where you need grease and comfort I would always go for Dodgeball or Mean Girls. Anyone who says they don’t know every word to those films is a straight-up Liar.
If you had to be a mythical creature for a week, which one would you choose and what would you do?
I would happily cut about as a Griffin me, imagining rocking up to the boozer and landing in the beer garden. Bosh check out my wingspan mate and get the drinks in.
What’s the most unusual or surprising talent you have that not many people know about?
I’m basically Mary Berry’s long-lost grandchild. I bake the best pies in the North-East and it’s not even close.
If you could instantly become fluent in any language, which would you choose and what would you do with that skill?
Italian!!! I love Italy and would love to live there. I can speak a little but being able to fling right into the lingo when you land in the country would be class!
If you were given the chance to live in any fictional universe, which one would you pick and why?
Star wars!! Having my own ship to fly about multiple planets and raid every dodgy cantina would be the vibe.
What’s the strangest piece of advice you’ve ever received that actually turned out to be useful?
It has to be either ‘bullsh** baffles brains’ or ‘if in doubt blame who’s not about.’ Haha! They are both useful in all walks of life!
