As the North East comedian embarks on a lengthy UK tour this month, we attempt to get under his skin with some randomly selected questions…
North East comedian Gavin Webster will be no stranger to many readers. Having spent 32 years on the comedy circuit, he’s now embarking on an impressive UK tour with his show An Evening Of Swearing And Shouting, which stops off at several venues in the region including Alnwick Playhouse (21st Sept), The Witham in Barnard Castle (28th Sept), Whitley Bay Playhouse (2nd Nov) and Empire Theatre Consett (9th Nov).
Here, we called on our AI pal to ask Gavin a few random questions before he set off on tour…
1. If you could swap lives with any fictional character for a day, who would it be?
How about Popeye? It would be great to have a fantastic right hand that could wipe out a bully.
2. If animals could talk, which one do you think would be the rudest?
Probably a camel. I can imagine they’d be like those entitled salesmen in hospitality at the airport.
3. What’s the most ridiculous fact you know that sounds fake but is actually true?
The metric system is based on the circumference of the Earth. Typically French it was slightly inaccurate. That’s why you should never get a Renault.
4. If you were invisible for a day, what would you do?
Just stay in the house and do nothing. It would make for a great story if I blew that big moment.
5. If you could time travel, would you go to the past or the future, and why?
Oh that’s a tough one. It depends how long and if I would be immortal as part of the deal. I’ll have to abstain on that one.
6. If you could replace all the grass in the world with something else, what would it be and why?
That’s definitely a question by someone who doesn’t have any respect of science or biology. Anyway how about water? Fresh water.
7. If you could only communicate by using song lyrics, which song would you choose to speak with?
You Can Get It If You Really Want by Jimmy Cliff.
