A chance to meet the man behind the stunning look of the British drama starring Agyness Deyn
The Tyneside Cinema are offering audiences the chance to meet the director of photography behind one of the year’s most anticipated British films on Tuesday 30th December, when Si Bell of Electricity hosts a special screening of the movie. Bell has worked on a number of films and British television productions, including the flick Centurion, Waterloo Road and Wire in the Blood, but Electricity is probably his greatest achievement as a director of photography to date.
Adapted from Ray Robinson’s novel, Electricity stars former supermodel Agyness Deyn as a young woman, Lily, suffering from epilepsy in a unique spin on the Alice in Wonderland story. Lily travels from her coastal home town to London to find her estranged brother but her epilepsy causes her to have violent fits which leave her bloodied, bruised, disoriented and above all vulnerable.
Alongside director Bryn Higgins, Bell brings Lily’s disorienting fits to life in a chilling yet utterly hypnotic way, telling the story through her fractured consciousness and her unique view of the world.
