Who are you and where are you from?
We are RuMaz, a rap group made up of 90BRO & Max Gavins. 90’s from Sunderland, and Max is from Gateshead.

What is it you do?
Make hype rap music.

How long have you been doing it?
We connected as a duo in 2018, before putting out our first album “Songs In The Key of Hype” in 2022. Before that, both of us had been making music individually for over a decade.

What inspires you?
Gregory Isaacs, Kanye West, the North East, Lindisfarne Festival, the Mongol Empire, Performing live and bringing people together.

Tell us about your music.
The new single Oh Aye [0.i] is a more chilled, soulful departure from our usual fast-paced trappy bangers. Whenever it’s RuMaz, you’re guaranteed on-point lyrics that are unapologetically North-Eastern, but still drawn from all corners of the world.

What have you got coming up in the future?
Rumaz album 2: [Indistinct Chatter] coming 2024. Feel the noise. Solo projects from both of us also. I feel we’ve both developed as artists and excited to share our visions with you all.

Where can people find out more about you?
Follow RuMaz, 90BRO & Max Gavins on Spotify, and it’s @rumazmusic, @90br0 and @maxgavinsmusic on Instagram. The new single also has a video on YouTube, so search “RuMaz – Oh Aye”!
