The Northern School Of Art’s film festival will showcase work from exciting young filmmakers in the region
On Thursday 19th May The Northern School Of Art is set to showcase the next generation of North-East filmmakers at The Northern Film Festival at ARC Stockton.
The evening is the culmination of students of the school’s BA (Hons) Film, TV & Theatre Production degree and is an opportunity to present their final short films, as well as talk about them in a post-screening discussion.
The films feature performances from The Northern School of Art’s Acting for Stage & Screen degree students and see the students collaborate with the Production Design, Costume Interpretation with Design and Visual Effects and Model Making degree programmes.
The four films being screened are:
Boulder & Pebble – Written and Directed by Samuel Burt – A sporting coming of age tale.
Midnight – Written and Directed by Anna Bant – A film filled with deception, violence and betrayal that chronicles a young woman’s night out.
Love Bethany – Written and directed by Oscar W. Fitchett – a haunting tale of guilt and grief.
A Story of Love and Interplanetary Warfare – Written and Directed by Robbie Tweedale – A sci-fi boy meets girl story.
Jonny Bussell, Faculty Leader for Stage & Screen at The Northern School of Art, adds… “The Festival will be a fantastic celebration of the superb work our third year students have created. They have worked incredibly hard on these films throughout the academic year. It is a great showcase of their skill, creativity and passion for filmmaking.”
