Anthony Lo‑Giudice’s Se Gæst | The Guest returns to the road this autumn, opening at ARC Stockton on Saturday 3rd October before touring across the North — a bold, dreamlike dance‑theatre exploration of Englishness, belonging and the stories we inherit. Built through interviews and conversations with communities across England, the work draws on the nuanced, often conflicting relationships people have with national identity, feeding directly into its shifting, mythic world.
Blending movement, live music, storytelling and puppetry, the piece follows a stranger washed up on England’s shores and the community forced to confront questions of identity, tolerance and who gets to belong. Drawing on Old English language, folklore and mythology, Lo‑Giudice creates a world where collapsing cities, lost creatures and ancient spirits collide with the present, shaped by his own experience of arriving in England as a child and searching for a sense of home.
The tour continues to Hullabaloo in Darlington (18th Nov), Durham Cathedral (25th Feb 2027) and Maltings Berwick, ahead of further dates in London and Italy in spring 2027.
