The crafty culture crawl takes place in the Ouseburn Valley this weekend
Fancy a wee glimpse behind the scenes of some artsy venues? Studios and venues in Newcastle’s Ouseburn Valley have a long-standing tradition of flinging open their doors for the nosy public to enjoy, and this year’s Ouseburn Open Studios weekend takes place on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th November.
So, whether you fancy interacting with some artists, seeing venues in a new light, or just going somewhere lovely for some great music, food and drink, there’s something for everyone.
Highlights include a chance to have a peek at some drawings of the wonderful views from the building and have a go at drawing some of your own at 36 Lime Street; Mushroom Works will be talking about their art and what inspires them; there’s an opportunity to explore Cobalt Studios and enjoy silent films, music, DJs and arts workshops; artist Bridget Jones exhibits her unique paper and textile prints at Northern Print; the Biscuit Factory celebrates its new contemporary craft space, plus there’s boat-loads of artists and makers showing their wares; while Biscuit Tin Studio provides the chance to have a go at life drawing.
If you’re feeling festive and a bit boozy, The Tyne Bar host a Christmas party on Saturday complete with gift stalls, food vendors and live music from Rob Slater’s Rock Choir and the Millie-Eve Duo, plus DJs later on.
There’s plenty more besides, check out the website for more info.
