Newcastle-based artist management company and independent record label Kaleidoscope was founded in 2015 as a way for the band SHIELDS to release their debut album. Fast forward five years and 50 record releases later and the organisation is offering six interns the chance to to start their own record label and get paid to do it.

Kaleidoscope have received funding and support from Youth Music and The People’s Postcode Lottery, which will allow them to pay their interns £11 per hour . Due to the global pandemic, and also because internship program leader Andy Haggerstone has relocated to Bangkok, applicants from all of the UK are being welcomed as the internship is being run online. Doing this will allow Kaleidoscope to draw on their  contacts in the music industry to help them provide a truly valuable educational component and run panels that discuss various key areas of the music business, from publishing to live.

The internship is expected to run from 11th January 2021, lasting 12 weeks. Interns will be required to take part in 3 hours of contact time, with the panels and with Kaleidoscope – for 12 weeks, and will be paid £11 per hour for this time. Applications will close on 21st December 2020, click here to apply.
