Dancing at home can be tricky, there’s the health and safety implications of falling over and cracking your head open on the TV stand, or the damage a stray hand swishing past the mantelpiece can do to your ornaments and not-forgetting the damage to your credibility as passing neighbours look inside your house to see you shaking your shimmy and grinding your grout. Well, none of that seemed to concern the brave people at Ellen Hathaway Dance Company who release CO-iNSiDE, a brand new dance film created during lockdown.

Ellen Hathaway Dance Company is an emerging contemporary dance company who works with refugee and local communities, local artists and international collaborators to produce community dance projects and professional performances of high cultural significance. Their latest offering, first-ever original Dance Film created in isolation, is a heart-warming and relatable tale of a young couple in lockdown who decide to discard their barrier creating technology and instead find each other again. It’s a production that invites you to recognise what’s important to you in your own lockdown tales and looks to raise money for the NHS whilst encouraging public participation to boost morale and mental health during these difficult times.

The dance company is also asking the public to send in videos of their own lockdown tales to: [email protected] and share with everyone what is keeping their spirits high.
