Deciphers by renowned dance artists Jean Abreu and Naishi Wang that is coming to Dance City Newcastle on 31 October as part of a UK tour
Following acclaimed performances in Canada, Deciphers makes its UK debut this autumn, with a tour that includes Dance City, Newcastle on 31st October. Created and performed by Naishi Wang and Jean Abreu, the piece blends Chinese folk dance, Brazilian movement, spoken word and breath work to explore translation, miscommunication and the immigrant experience. The stage becomes a blank canvas, where the body speaks across cultures and languages. With design by Lucie Bazzo and Ivy Wang, and an original score by Ukrainian composer Olesia Onykiienko, Deciphers is a poetic, physical reflection on how we connect—and where meaning slips away.
