Influential filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky has all seven of his feature films set to be shown at Tyneside Cinema from tonight until Wednesday 19th October. The director, known for stunning visuals and long takes explores some incredible philosophical themes, so this season is a must for any true film buff.

Starting with Stalker tonight, the season also includes Ivan’s Childhood, Adrei Rublev, Solaris, Mirror, Nostalgia and finally his last ever film The Sacrifice brings it all to a close. Each film exhibits glorious techniques and inventive and creative use of the medium, leading to this season being a showcase in what true artistry can be in the cinematic world. With all seven films available with a season pass, it’s an awesome opportunity to catch some incredible films from a revered cinematic artist with a gift for incredible drama and beguiling storytelling that’ll last long in the memory.
