The Newcastle alt-rock outfit give us an exclusive look at their new music video

Newcastle alt-rockers PØRTERS are set to release the video for The Devil I Know, which the band released earlier in the year, on Sunday 2nd November at 7pm. The band have very kindly given us an exclusive sneak peek at this visual accompaniment ahead of its release, as well as telling us a little more about the video itself…
Featuring Kieran Taylor, Maria Winter, James Hughes, Nick Gladdish, and the newest member Oliver Steel, each bandmate takes on acting roles throughout the video. The concept was born from Kieran’s imagination one weekend, when he began sketching out script ideas that would evolve into a darkly humorous short film.
The plot: A man (played by Kieran) stumbles into a bar after a rough day, just looking for a quiet drink. He chats with the bartender (Oliver), unaware that a hooded stranger (Maria) has slipped something sinister into his glass. Moments later, he begins to feel strange — itching, burning — and rushes to the restroom, only to find rashes spreading across his body. His reflection twists and morphs, revealing a demon staring back.
From there, chaos erupts. Chairs fly, patrons scatter, and the possessed protagonist tears through the bar before taking his rampage into the outside world. As exhaustion takes hold, the mysterious hooded stranger reappears — now accompanied by her new demonic ally — and the two vanish into the distance.
A tongue-in-cheek twist on the classic music video format. Rather than a standard mimed performance, The Devil I Know delivers a cinematic experience that lets viewers connect with each member of PØRTERS in a new way. Packed with humour, energy, and DIY creativity, it’s a testament to the band’s off-stage personality and love of storytelling.
The video was shot in collaboration with local creatives Forged in Frame, whose cinematic eye brought the chaos and comedy to life — massive shout-out to those guys for capturing the vision perfectly.
