Newcastle alternative stoner rock trio, Dunes, are set to release their new single Circles via Sapien Records on Friday 30th July. It’s a savage offering complete with growling guitars, intense rhythms and impassioned vocals and comes complete with a shiny, new video.

We’re delighted that the band, who are performing at Little Buildings (supporting Scott Michael Cavagan) on 6th August, have given us an exclusive first look at the single’s visual accompaniment, which the band talk a little more about here…

“Circles is about being dragged uncontrollably into the vortex of something or someone that will not let you go. You find yourself being relentlessly pummelled as it takes control of everything you do and think to the point where you cannot escape and see no other direction but down, no escape, no outside, no nothing, just this, forever, no change. But just as you begin to feel the nausea of the constant spinning and you finally succumb to the lack of power and free fall, you are struck with the realisation that you are a fully functioning part of the spin cycle which you thought you were trapped in. You are part of the problem and not the solution.

Or it could be about taking a dog for a walk while heavily under the influence of drugs.

With the video we wanted to visually capture that feeling of gradually beginning to enjoy the lack of control and enjoying the trip.”
