Focus: Trivia

Who are you and where are you from?
Trivia are a high-energy alt-punk, emo, grunge trio from Sunderland. Formed by Hannah Hays (15, vocals/guitar) and Lydia Stubbs (15, drums), and completed by Ava Fox (15, vocals/guitar).

What inspires you?
Going out together as a band to see other local bands. The likes of CRITCH and Slalom D are some of our favourite bands to go see. Being present in the local music scene is really the thing that inspires us to keep making music.

Tell us about your music.
Trivia make loud melodic punk rock n roll. We blends the raw intensity of 90s grunge with early 2000s punk hooks with a fierce DIY spirit.

We have just played our sold-out EP launch gig at Independent, Sunderland on 18th July and have been picked up by Serial Bowl Records, who have released the EP on CD. Working with Serial Bowl was a no-brainer as their community-driven DIY or die ethos aligns perfectly with ours.

We write and perform original music. We love playing live, whether it’s small grassroots venues or festivals.

How long have you been doing it?
Trivia has been kicking about for around a year, however we’ve just finalised our lineup with the addition of our third member Ava Fox who made her debut at our sold out debut EP launch gig at Independent.

What have you got coming up in the future?
We just released our debut five-track EP, and we’re focused on playing as many live shows as possible while writing new music. We’re excited to keep growing, networking and hopefully get back into the studio before too long.
