The Sunderland indie outfit give us an exclusive listen to their upcoming single (out 31st March)
Sunderland quartet Jarpsy are set to release their latest single on Friday 31st March and we’re delighted to get an exclusive listen to it.
The track is a grunge-up offering, complete with doom-laden open rhythms, crunchy guitars and early 90s sounding indie vocals. The dynamics often shift, which keeps you on your toes, and when combined with the reflective lyrics and lovely harmonies makes for an intriguing and compelling listen.
Here the band tell us a little more about the single…
“Scarper is an ode to the cabin fever felt by any and all trapped in the working class grind, the song tries to encapsulate the fruitless dreaming that occurs in most of the minds imprisoned in what feels like a never ending loop. It was a song born in lockdown and has been the opening track to all of our live shows for the past year. It really sets the tone for our gigs and has become a crowd favourite. Scarper is also the first track from our upcoming EP… but more info will be coming soon.”
