The North-East rapper talks about his new creative collective MAD House which he has started with his with fellow performer Too Common
Scenes either come together out of chance and then labelled a scene retrospectively, or, they are purposefully created via the efforts of certain individuals who bring the relevant components together to enable creatives to collaborate, collectivise and flourish. MAD House is the latter and has been brought together by North-East rappers Scrannabis and Too Common to satisfy all your music, media and design needs.
Ahead of ‘MAD House On Tour’, Scrannabis tells us more about the MAD House scene…
Myself and Too Common have just launched a brand new creative collective called MAD House. What we want MAD House to be is basically the go to place for new and old creatives alike to come too to get s**t done!
Whether you come to us for help making beats or need us to make great eye-catching artwork. We want people to know MAD House is a stamp of quality work. M.A.D stands for music, art and design and with both co- founders, myself and Tom, having worked and studied within our respective fields for collectively over 10 years, you know you’re going to walk away with a quality piece of art at the end of it!
As well as this, we want MAD House to be a parent company for anything Tom or myself choose to do outside of our own music brands. That’s why we decided to put on a tour around the North East in October called MAD House on Tour!.
Not only did we do that, we also decided to bring some of the best in the NE with us! From legends in the scene like Eyeconic and Rumaz, to BBC Intro 2021 top tips such as Badmind!
And just to make sure we’re keeping our plate full we’ve teamed up with The Bunker C.I.C in Sunderland to bring people ‘[Rec’d]’ the brand new monthly event showcasing the best of the best in NE talent to the people of Sunderland! The next one will be on the 16th of October featuring a brilliant line up of Lister, Left-blank, and also Chloe Castro as the headliner of the night!
