The Bunker & Independent team up to offer artists much-needed support and guidance. Returning for its second year, the Sunderland Summer Sessions project is aimed at providing much-needed support and guidance to the new musicians in Sunderland and the wider North-East

The month-long residency, taking place at The Bunker studios, will offer successful applicants over 30 hours of free rehearsal and recording time, alongside support from industry professionals and experienced musicians to develop their songwriting, live performance skills, artist management assets (EPK’s, Tech Specs, One Sheets etc) and more.

All artists will also get a two-track, fully-mixed and HD recorded, live session video, a celebration gig at Independent on Saturday 28th of September, as well as a track featured on a new compilation album, to be released on all streaming platforms.

Independent’s Ben Richardson adds “We’re really looking forward to working on this project once again with The Bunker. Last year was a success but we’ve tweaked a few things to make the project more effective in our mission to support local artists, as always we can’t wait to welcome the next group of emerging acts to play in Independent.”

Those wanting to apply will need to be available on either every Tuesday OR every Wednesday for the whole of August (5 weeks in total) from 10am-4pm and available for a gig on Saturday 28th September.

The deadline for applications is Friday 19th July at 5pm To apply fill out a short form here.
