The Newcastle Ewan Brown Anarchist Bookfair returns to the Star and Shadow Cinema on Saturday 30th May, marking its fifth year with a full day of stalls, workshops and radical ideas from across the North East and beyond. Running 10am–5pm, the event brings together books, artwork, posters, clothing and info rooted in community organising, anti‑oppression work and grassroots politics — with everything from apartheid to unionising on the agenda.

Organised entirely by volunteers, the bookfair celebrates the life and legacy of Ewan Brown while spotlighting the region’s radical past, present and future. Expect a lively mix of activists, artists, writers and local groups filling the Star and Shadow with discussion, creativity and collective energy.
