Newcastle University’s Film@CultureLab have teamed up with Star & Shadow Cinema to present an online festival of final year films by BA Film Practices and BA Film & Media students from Newcastle University.
Have you drained Netflix of all there is to watch? Or do the films on your watchlist feel a little irrelevant? Or has the lockdown got you supporting all that’s local? Whatever it is, if you’re looking for something a little different and on-the-pulse, then Newcastle University’s Film@CultureLab have teamed up with Star & Shadow Cinema to proudly present, A World Turn’d Upside Down – an online festival of final year films by BA Film Practices and BA Film & Media students from Newcastle University.
This free event takes place over two days (Friday 24th July 7-10pm and Saturday 25th July 6:30-10pm) and includes 25 individually produced final year documentary films, created during the height of the global pandemic. Live streaming of the films will be followed by opportunities for an online video discussion between the filmmakers, Newcastle University teaching fellows, and the public.
Saturday’s event will also feature a special selection of undergraduate films before the final-year showcase.
