From Saturday 11th January-Sunday 5th April, British photographer Tessa Bunney will be showcasing her most recent exhibition within the beautiful and characterful Side Gallery. Her collection titled ‘otherwise unseen’ features work inspired by her self-professed fascination with the everyday intricacies of rural life and the way in which human activity continues to shape the landscapes around us.

In recent years she has collaborated with, and chronicled the lives of Romanian shepherds, Icelandic Puffin hunters, North Yorkshire hill farmers as well as Finnish ice swimmers, to name but a few. Throughout her highly successful 25 year career she has been nominated twice in 2013 for the Prix Pictet – the global award for Photography and Sustainability.

Through her work she aims to draw awareness to the mundanities of life which are often overlooked, but which affect our affiliations to the land and our ever-changing relationship to it, making for a timely and intriguing display.
