A new comedy streaming service launches which looks to support the local scene by putting all money made back into making more shows
If you are tired of sifting through the American imports, classic shows you’ve seen loads and the many misses on Netflix to look for a bit of comedy to lighten up your rubbish day, then you’ll be pleased to know that a new on demand comedy service is on it’s way to bring some much needed joy.
Felt Nowt (a Community Interest Company set up by comedians) presents Nowtflix, a comedy streaming service from the North East, bringing a host of recorded shows, sketches and more from local talent.
The service, which launches on Wednesday 19th May, allows comedy fans to access hours of LOL-alicious content from comedy heavyweights such as Britain’s Got Talent winner Lost Voice Guy, former Comedian’s Comedian of the Year Gavin Webster, Viz Kingpin Simon Donald, Edinburgh nominee Seymour Mace and rising stars such as Raul Kohli and Rachel Jackson. Other acts include fan favourites such as Nicola Mantalios, George Zach, Lee Kyle, John Whale, Joby Mageean, John Scott, Steffen Peddie and lots more..
All shows have been donated free of charge with all money going towards making more comedy, putting on even more gigs and supporting the region’s exciting comedy scene. And if that’s not enough for you, NowtFlix is not just a subscription service but it is also a membership scheme. Sign up and you are eligible for money off at live shows as well special offers.
There will be new shows added each month and membership cost £5 per month (or £7.50-10 for those who are feeling flush and would like to contribute a little more to supporting local comedy)
