Soapbox Racer, a brash coming-of-age comedy, wheels its way to Alphabetti Theatre, Newcastle from Tuesday 25th April until Saturday 13th May.

The play is a story of love, loss and, of course, Soapbox racing, which follows recently dumped Kay who does what any heartbroken teen would do to win back their love… enter a Soapbox Derby.  Her relationship with her father is put to the test during the creation of her vehicle in his garage but Kay soon realises that there’s more to love and friendship than the affection of her teenage crush.

Writer Ben Schwarz adds “I’m very excited about bringing this play to Newcastle. It’s a homecoming, really, for a play that’s in some senses, about figuring out your relationship with home. The team here are incredible – I think they’re building something really special. “

Tickets range from Pay What You Feel to £15 and are available here.
