News: Create/Disrupt – Open Call

Create/Disrupt is a development programme from The Newbridge Project for aspiring artists and arts workers from the North-East who have not been to university. Its aim is to build a creative community, as well as offering professional support, free studio space and artist mentoring for those who have been historically marginalised from professional and creative opportunities. It offers those who are a part of it workshops, artist mentoring, field trips, exhibition opportunities and socials.

Applications are now open for this year’s programme. All art forms and creative interests are welcome. To apply, e-mail izzy@thenewbridgeproject.com and describe 

• Your current creative/artistic interests (include examples of your work if you would like to!)
• Where you feel your artistic or creative journey is currently at (it doesn’t matter where you feel you are and this won’t affect your application, you could tell us something new you want to explore);
• What your creative hopes and aspirations are for the next 12 months and what you hope to gain from being a member of Create/Disrupt.

You are invited to submit this information in whatever form suits you best – you can write directly on to our specially designed form, you can share a link to something, or you can upload a video or audio file.

The deadline for applications is 17 December 2023 and activity will begin late January 2024.
