Who are you and where are you from?
We are the Dirty Nothings, originally from Newton Aycliffe.
What is it you do?
Baz on cajon and percussion and vocals and Gram on guitar and vocals
How long have you been doing it?
We’ve been in bands and songwriting together for over 20 years and we both take a hand in writing songs.
What inspires you?
We have many influences but they don’t necessarily play a part in our songwriting (not consciously anyway).
Tell us about your music.
We come up with a melody, if we like it we work on it. We try to play with feel and energy rather than the songs being too polished. It’s very much DIY at the moment with recording, producing and videos.
I don’t know whether it falls into any genre. (Not that bothered really but it’s clearly not grime).
What have you got coming up in the future?
We are finishing putting together a set of songs that we will be performing live, recording and uploading to our YouTube channel.
