The indie-rock outfit try to encapsulate the sounds of their new single using three tracks
Ahead of their festival appearances at Kendal Calling and Truck Festival, much-talked about rock ‘n’ roll outfit VENUS GRRRLS release their new single, Violet State Of Mind. The song is a two-minute burst of grinding guitars, intense beats and soaring, soulful vocals complete with a chorus that most Alexa speakers will struggle to play without exploding.
Here, the band try and encapsulate the sound of the song using three tracks…
Yonaka – Rockstar
This song is a bit of a Venus classic. We listen to it whenever we’re together and travelling to gigs in the car. It really gets us feeling motivated, and brings us closer together. A real morale booster!
Wolf Alice – Smile
Wolf Alice were a big band for us in our mid teens, with Ellie Rowsell being a huge inspiration for us all as we were growing up. We love Smile as it’s a fresh sound from Wolf Alice, but maintains the classic characteristics of their musical origins.
Crawlers – Hush
We absolutely love the arrangement of this song. It really packs a punch and hits you in the face. It has heaps of attitude, and we adore everything that Crawlers are doing at the moment. We’re big fans!
