So, how was your 2021?

This year has been filled with many highs for me however I feel conflicted as I should probably be much happier than I am coming up to the end of the year. I guess there is still so much more I want to accomplish.

What was your best moment?

I think performing for the Culture Awards in Durham Cathedral with my Dad in attendance was one of my best moments, alongside performing at Lindisfarne Festival with my partner in rhyme Eyeconic. Those are the type of moments that I will remember forever.

And your worst moment?

With everything going on in the world right now my worst moment seems insignificant but musically I would say it would be missing my set at Last Train Home Festival in Darlington. It was a performance I was really looking forward to. I hope I can put that one right one day.

Who was your favourite band/artist this year?

It would have to be Dylan Cartlidge. He is super talented and his debut album Hope Above Adversity is amazing.

Your favourite song of the year?

Freddie Gibbs – Gang Signs

Recommended album?

Nas – Kings Disease 2

Favourite TV show of the year?

The Midnight Gospel and I’m not ashamed to admit that I have watched a few seasons of Below the Deck haha.

Your favourite film?

The Matrix Resurrections

Best book you read?

Trials of the State by Jonathan Sumpton

Best podcast?

I haven’t had the chance to listen to many podcasts this year but it would probably be Rogan

Favourite venue of the year?

The Georgian Theatre and Green Room

What was your favourite gig/show of the year?

My top three would have to be The Culture Awards, Lindisfarne Festival and Songs From Northern Britain

Any upcoming artists we should keep an eye out for in 2022?

So many great artists emerging from the North East right now. My best advice would be to keep up to date with NARC. so you can discover them all.

And finally, what has next year got in store for you?

I really want next year to be the year I release an album. This is where I’m going to focus all of my energy!
