So, how was your 2021?

It’s been a madness. I was announced as one of BBC Introducing’s Tips for 2021, I managed to release two of my best singles to date and I was lucky enough to get out gigging again finally after all of the lockdown palaver! So overall, not a bad year!

What was your best moment?

The moment I first got to play a gig again after almost two years without any live shows. My last gig before lockdown was in November 2019 so coming out to play again in 2021 has been a dream.

And your worst moment?

Probably winter kicking in, COVID cases rising and the worry of live shows being cancelled again in the New Year!

Who was your favourite band/artist this year?

I’ve been on a Central Cee hype since he dropped his Wild West album.

Your favourite song of the year?

Ultra Light Beam – Kayne West. Its been my go-to song to listen to first thing in the morning, it starts my day just right.

Your favourite film?

Hmmm, I’ve got to be honest, I don’t watch a lot of TV or films and can’t remember the last time I watched one! I couldn’t say a favourite, BORING!

Best book you read?

The Rules of Thinking – so insightful.

Best podcast?

I don’t have one! I need to listen to more – any recommendations? Lol.

Favourite venue of the year?

I really enjoyed playing the Georgian Theatre in Stockton, it’s such a nice space. The crowd were great and it was just a really nice vibe.

What was your favourite gig of the year?

Same gig, supporting ZELA at the Georgian Theatre in Stockton, it was a banger. The duo are electric and we had so much fun!

Any upcoming artists we should keep an eye out for in 2022?

I discovered Cole LC a while ago, he’s super talented, I reckon he has big things ahead of him.

And finally, what has next year got in store for you?

The plan is to take stock and get as much music written as possible over the winter period before getting some singles out and, all being well, playing some live shows! I’ve confirmed my first ever headline show for Saturday 29th January at Bobik’s in Newcastle and so I’m hyped to start the year as I mean to go on.
