Reliably informed

Ahead of the next Roiler Boom at Bar Loco on Wednesday 20th September, we caught up with one half of the duo behind it, Jon Cornbill to give us five of his favourite tracks right now. With the night centred around an open decks policy and Jon and Jamie Cook both playing some top tracks before the decks open up, expect a night of sharing tunes, laughs and lot of happy memories. Over to you Jon…

Nurse With Wound – Thrill Of Romance…
A hypnotic and wondrous introduction to this Top 5. Nurse With Wound are playing at the Sage in the ‘Heed soon as part of TUSK Festival.

Bob Chance – Wild It’s Broken
The 12’ version I have has a way more of a disco uptempo feel. But I discovered this on a mix Ana Helder did for Edwin, I much prefer it.

Try to Find Me – Needs Ending
An alias of Justin Van Der Volgen, for me this is starting to become to solid ‘old gold’. Release on one of my go-to favourites Golf Channel Recordings, in 2012. I found this track in 2015 and find it really nostalgic in recalling cold Eastern European streets.

Fatnotronic & Joutro Mundo – Tudao
Came out earlier in the year and as cool as can be. Groovy beat, spanky bass and some great vocals midway through. All the boxes ticked.

Cowboy Rhythmbox – Tanz Exotique
Solid unrelenting industrialism from Nathan Gregory Wilkins & Richard X to end this top 5 selection. New out this summer, I’m dying to hear it on some massive speakers in a tiny room, with some like minded individuals.

Roiler Boom is at Bar Loco, Newcastle on Wednesday 20th September.
