Over the past twelve months, our magazine and website have been brimming with super-talented, creative souls. We’ve asked a few of them to tell us about their 2019. Next up, is much-loved comedian and writer, turned multi-award winning actor Dave Johns.

So, how was your 2019?
2019 saw me have my first Bedroom scene in a film at the age of 63… Now there’s something I never in a million years thought!! Starring alongside the amazing Alison Steadman. 
 
What was your best moment?
My best moment of 2019 was realising it will soon be 2020.

And your worst moment?
My Worst moment of 2019 was releasing soon it will be 2021 and that is really the future, but still no hover boots have been invented !!! I want hover boots.

Your favourite band/artist of the year?
My favourite band was Sea Girls, an indie band.

Favourite TV show of the year?
The Repair Shop, I never miss it. 
I think the team in the workshop are geniuses. Best TV ever, ever,  ever.
 
Your favourite film?
The Irishman wow what a movie! up there with the best stunning performances by Pacino, De Niro, Pesci and Steven Graham. Watched it three times in one week.

Favourite venue of the year?
The Stand Newcastle: A small comedy cellar comedy club, the best place to see stand up.

What was your favourite gig/show of the year?
My tour show at Theatre By The Lake Keswick. What fun I had there, such a laugh. 

Any upcoming artists we should keep an eye out for in 2020?
King Princess, a young singer from Brooklyn New York. Amazing. 

And finally, what has next year got in store for you?
My latest film will be realised. 23 Walks – A gentle love story. Set against the changing season of one year. Co-starring the amazing Alison Steadman. (Gavin & Stacey). 
I have a sitcom pilot show in development with Tiger Aspect. 
I’m writing a stage play for Northern Stage.
I will be performing at the Edinburgh Festival 2020. 
Fishermans Friends Two shooting.
