The talented multi-instrumentalist and composer gives us an exclusive look at a live performance of one of his upcoming releases
Talented multi-instrumentalist and composer Benjamin Fitzgerald releases a live performance of one of his future releases Days Of Rhyl. Filmed at Sage Gateshead, and including electronic and instrumental musical accompaniment, this intimate and spellbinding rendition really captures the intricacies and passion of the performance that might otherwise have been missed with a studio recording. The acoustics of the performance hall gives the music a rich, transcendent quality that offers five and a half beautiful minutes of respite from the challenging times we find ourselves living in.
We’re delighted to have been given an exclusive look at this live video, which Ben himself tells us more about…
“Days of Rhyl is the first live track I’m putting out there and represents my first step away from the classical world, focusing more on musical experimentation and merging it with a more electronic sphere which is certainly the direction I’m wanting to take my sound. The track was created during my residency with the Sage over the summer and as such, was asked to perform it on their main stage. The residency was an incredible opportunity to try out some new things and I was really excited to hear it play out in their main hall. It’s a stage I’ve always dreamed about performing on, and despite an eerie lack of audience, I felt really honoured they would give me the opportunity to do so. I only hope I’ll be able to do it again with an audience in front of me.”
