Reliably informed

Kicking off with what sounds like an actual gut punch – which isn’t dissimilar to the way I’d describe this song, actually – is the brand new song from Marginal Gains, Pension Pot, produced by Chris McManus at Blank Studios in Newcastle.

It’s a dynamic punk rollercoaster, loop-the-looping around some deliciously clever social commentary lyrics, extremely expressive vocals and unflinchingly well-delivered instrumentation. The quartet -comprising Daniel Dover, Charlotte Harrison, Ashleigh Walker and Roberta Harrison -formed in 2023, and they have been blowing people away ever since. The push and pull of their songs, particularly this one, makes for a unique, unapologetic level of dynamism. Never apologising, but asking the inconsiderate systems of the world to do so instead.
