Reliably informed

Generator’s First Notes Programme alumni Lucy Garnett indulges in the bittersweet push-and-pull of a bewitching slow burn on her second single, What Is This Feeling?

Released off the back of her debut single Grim Up North, the Sunderland-born and bred singer-songwriter swaps out her Northern pride for the seduction of pursuit in eager anticipation of the season of romance.

Intertwined as twin flames, the brooding bass mimicking one’s slow and steady heartbeat paired with Lucy’s euphoric, velvety harmonies work to entrance the listener like the first drunken sip from a glass of red wine.

What Is This Feeling? is sexy, sultry and soulful, with a bold drumbeat flirting shamelessly with tender, glittering piano keys, and rich in lyricism both tortured and lovesick.

Lucy says: “My music’s very personal, but also relatable. I’m really looking forward to connecting with people, and to people hearing what I have to say through my music.”

You can catch Lucy Garnett live at ZEROX supporting Citrus alongside Sarah Johnsone on Friday 20th February.
