Teesside punk-influenced rock ‘n’ rollers Northern Hospitality release their anthemic new track, Runaway Like Me, a ferocious riff-heavy indie offering with driving verses and soaring chorus.
We’re delighted to be given an exclusive listen to the song, ahead of its release on Friday 29th September.
Here, frontman Gaz Price tells us more about the track…
“Runaway Like Me is a force of nature. A personal journey of resilience and escape through the eyes of the beholder. Leaving behind who you were, to become who you were always meant to be. This song flew together with the band. Its sound and colossal size is what drove the rest of our writing into the direction that it has taken.
We always open our shows with it – with the sole aim to blow heads off from the moment we take the stage. The inspiration for the song came from an old Marshall guitar pedal I found in my loft, I must have it bought when I was like 16. I started playing around with some mad slides and out came the main riff. It spiralled from there. It’s now the only pedal I use for a good reason ha!
Runaway like me is Northern Hospitality. An Adrenalin fueled harmony of well-crafted chaos!”
