Boy Best Friend’s New Girlfriend is the brand new single from Newcastle-based solo artist
Lauren Amour and is set for release on Friday 17th November. The track, as the title suggests, is about losing a best friend and offers the listeners an accomplished, sharply produced dark-pop anthem complete with heartfelt vocals, shuffling beats and spacious synth sounds.
We’re delighted to be given an exclusive listen to the track ahead of its release. Here, the artist, who is set to join Leah Kate as part of her US tour, tells us more about the track…
“This track is special to me as it’s not a subject that I’ve heard before in a song, but it is something that happens often, and I want my songs to be relatable to as many different audiences and topics as I can. I wrote this song after watching a movie called ‘Edge of Seventeen’ which has a similar situation and I really sympathised with the main character, and that inspired me to write this.”
