Promoters Down By The River bring two of the finest blues performers to Durham on Saturday 11th December
On Saturday 11th December, promoters of all that is good in the world of folk, blues and acoustic music, Down By The River, are putting on a lovely little shindig in the intimate setting of Claypath Delicatessen in Durham. Performing are two of the finest blues musicians around in Scott Wainwright and Michael Woods.
Headliner Scott Wainwright is a Barnsley-based bluesman who knows how to entertain a crowd and isn’t afraid to enhance his live performance with elements of hip-hop (including a little bit of beatboxing), folk, gospel, country and, if you’re lucky, maybe even a bit of Captain Beefheart.
Opening for Scott will be Michael Woods who is a solo acoustic fingerpicking, bottleneck blues guitarist, inspired by the likes of The Reverend Gary Davis and Blind Boy Fuller, who has made a name for himself on the acoustic blues and roots scene and has appeared on the acoustic stages of many of the major UK Blues festivals.
General admission tickets are £10 and concessions are £8. You can get yours here.
