Preview: My Body Temperature is Feeling Good/Starting Lines @ BALTIC

This March and April, Baltic Gateshead brings two new and powerful exhibitions to its galleries. From the 28th March the Baltic presents a solo exhibition of work by the late Milly Thompson. It promises to be a celebration of her legacy as one of the most thought-provoking creators in recent contemporary art.

The exhibition will be showing work from Thompson from 2010 onwards, with a large focus on female perspectives, which pushed the boundaries of modern art. From bold visual approaches to femininity, to more subdued and emotional tones, Thompson’s art is a feast for the eyes.

Also showing at Baltic from the 18th April is Starting Lines, from North East artistic duo – Foundation Press. Over the course of the exhibition, the duo will collaborate with schools, artists, and organisations in the region to bring true North East art to the forefront of discussions.

These new exhibitions highlight Baltic’s continued commitment to showcasing both established voices and emerging regional talent. With one focusing on polished artistry and the other bringing in modern gritty takes on the region, it honours the Baltic’s legacy as a centre for impactful art.

Both these shows also have private viewings on Friday 17th April, and following this they will be on display through until August.
