Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Mul and I’m an artist originally from High Heaton, Newcastle upon Tyne.

What is it you do?
I make art, both on the street and in the studio.

How long have you been doing it?
I started painting graffiti when I was around 11 years old which has slowly developed over 18 years to what I’m doing now.

What inspires you?
I’m inspired by my surroundings, art, culture and most certainly music.

Tell us about your music.
A lot of my work is music-related, my heart character that has became synonymous with my style was inspired by the song ‘Young Hearts Run Free’ by Candi Staton back in 2020. Since then my style has developed quite a bit, I’ve introduced new characters such as the Disco Ball that again feeds back into the love of music. I draw my influences from pop culture that ranges from local to global. I’ve always had an interest in painting on the street, it’s an art gallery that can be accessed by everyone, it’s taken me all over the world and allowed me to meet some incredible people.

What have you got coming up in the future?
For the future, I really want to push myself and develop my work as far as I can. I’ll never be satisfied with what I create. I’m always thinking about the next thing.

Where can people find out more about you?
The best way to stay up to date with my work would be via my Instagram: @mul_draws as well as my mailing list which you can sign up to via my website www.mul-draws.com. For contact, the best way is via email: [email protected].
