Jenny Sturgeon and M G Boulter bring their long‑running creative partnership to The Witham on Saturday 12th September, offering an intimate look at a songwriting conversation that’s quietly unfolded between since 2021. What began as pen‑pal exchanges grew into a thoughtful musical dialogue, with melodies captured on voice memos and lyric fragments emailed back and forth during the gaps between touring and everyday life.
Both artists arrive with strong credentials. M G Boulter has earned praise from Uncut and the Independent on Sunday, with his album With Wolves the Lamb Will Lie named one of the Daily Telegraph’s Best Folk Albums of 2016. He’s also performed with Blue Rose Code, Emily Portman’s Coracle Band and The Lucky Strikes. Jenny Sturgeon, a multi‑instrumentalist and sound artist, draws on nature, folklore and landscape in her acclaimed solo work, including The Living Mountain, nominated for Scottish Album of the Year.
Their collaborative album Wild Convenor, released on 21st August, gathers songs shaped by travel, family and shared reflection. It’s a quietly crafted collection that finds its full voice on stage, offering a rare chance to hear the project performed together in its intended, conversational form.
