From Monday 17th January until Thursday 17th February High, art space High Bridge Works, Newcastle will be hosting the Gary Carter x Rachel Brook exhibition in their foyer.

Newcastle University Fine Art graduate Gary Carter has been developing his creative practice in his studio for many years and uses the visual language of abstraction. Inspired by artists past and present, Gary’s work explores the juxtaposition of space, through blocks of colour, oil paint and other mediums.

Rachel (Eleanor) Brook has an MA in Film Studies and a BA in Film and Sociology from University of Northumbria as well as diplomas from London Academy of Media and Film in Video Editing and Documentary Filmmaking. She produces various types of art, including abstract art, mixed media with illustration, artist film and digital art.

Digitally and through illustration Rachel considers complex geometric themes and uses bold colour and shape. Her film work presents a range of dream-like perspectives, combining surrealism with art documentary, and as a disabled person, explores the ambient perspectives of living with an “invisible” condition.

Opening times are 9am-6pm Monday to Friday and admission is free.
