Eston Arts Centre is bringing the world of beer and art together for The Art of Brewing for a brand new exhibition taking place from Saturday 15th April – Saturday 13th May.

Joining the event is head brewer and co-founder of The Steam Machine Brewing Co., Nick Smith, label designer Michael Sutton from Altogether Creative and Clare Moore from Brewery Jewellery – who creates beautiful jewellery using craft beer can labels. Curating the exhibition is craft beer enthusiast and former brewery worker Mark James, who worked alongside Eston Arts Centre director Kirsty Childs to create a collaboration of accessible craft beer and art with no limits.

Nick, who founded The Steam Machine Brewing Co with his wife Gulen, has an extensive knowledge of the evolution of beer and brewing and will participate in interactive digital sessions and beer tastings. Michael, who does the branding for Steam Machine, will be showcasing his unique designs.

There will also be a competition for the art students of Teesside University to design the labels for the new beers, with the winning entries displayed in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition.

For those who get a little thirsty after looking at art The Vault, a pop-up bar, will be serving up refreshments. Also, two beers (California Steamin’ and Notes Of Eston) will be created on-site, with an opportunity to taste the results at the end of the exhibition.
