It’s been a tough old time for music projects and bands that formed or launched during the pandemic. With venues and rehearsal rooms closed for good chunks of the past year they’ve been confined to a digital space void of all the raw energy and charged atmosphere of a live show and have therefore been unable to truly demonstrate the entertaining and engaging performance element of their act.

One of these artists are dark-pop duo ZELA who have had a successful year with their single releases and have now decided to give us an accurate representation of what we can expect once restrictions are lifted and live music spaces open their doors. Their Live From Rooster’s sessions was filmed in the iconic Taproom of Rooster’s Brewing Company, Harrogate, with each track performed twice and edited together by Kraken Cinematic. The music is wonderfully mixed by Homefire Recording Co. and includes performances of their hard-hitting debut single Just Like That, the BBC Introducing-championed follow-up of Sleep Real Bad, and the dark pulse of I Think I Might’ve Killed Someone.

Lead singer Liv Griff tells us more, “Shooting these performance videos was an exhilarating moment in time that I’ll remember forever. Releasing the music we’d worked so hard on throughout the year, and then having to wait to play live only meant that there was this immense build-up of tension and excitement that we had to unchain. This is just a taste of what’s to come at ZELA shows.”

The videos will premiere on their YouTube channel on Friday 5th, 12th and 19th March at 7pm.
