Reliably informed

Irreverent and wild, un-tamed and abstract. These adjectives could be used to describe Tony Law’s hair, face or clothes, but are best applied to his comedy. Make the trip to The Witham in Barnard Castle on Saturday 28th February and you will see why this man has been compared to Dali, and it’s not just because of the moustache. Following in the footsteps of Simon Munnery, Alexei Sayle and Stewart Lee, Mr Law brings a loud and chaotic approach to alternative comedy. Having featured on Have I Got News For You, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Russell Howard’s Good News the amiable Canadian certainly has the credentials, but they don’t come much bigger than winning a Chortle award in 2014 (not to mention on two other occasions), drop in a nomination for a Foster’s comedy award and it’s easy to see why he’s earning five star reviews all over the shop.

Expect to be initially confused, then contemplative, then highly amused as Tony switches topics and launches into improv with slick regularity and a cheeky grin. Topical and hilarious, Tony Law has his finger on the pulse, and in the electric socket.

Tony Law is at The Witham, Barnard Castle on Saturday 28th February.
