A night of rock ‘n’ roll mayhem comes to Teesside as part of the Independent Venue Week celebrations.
Independent Venue Week is finally here. It’s a week-long reminder to the music industry that musical talent doesn’t start in test tubes incubated in their laboratories but in grassroots music venues up and down the country. On Saturday 1st February, Base Camp in Middlesbrough are getting involved and to show they mean business, they’ve got local promoter Sad For Life putting on a show featuring North-Western musical outlaws, Strange Bones.
Strange Bones are a band whose wit and charisma, mixed with their feral live shows and hard-hitting, down-tuned rock ‘n’ roll sound, has earned them the reputation as one of the best live acts in the country. Joining them on the bill are genre-bending punks, NEWMEDS, whose powerful, angsty sound gets them compared to the likes of Beastie Boys and Rage Against The Machine.
