Line-up updates are coming thick and fast from the Stockton Calling camp; following last week’s announcement that The Enemy will headline the ARC stage at the all-day event on Saturday 30th March next year, today they’ve revealed the top spot for KU.
Rising Manchester-based band Corella will bring their tropical indie pop sounds to the popular venue. Known for their emotive lyricism, beguiling live show and positive outlook, they’ve ensured a loyal fanbase thanks to a string of captivating releases which have earned them over 30 million streams, BBC Radio 1 airplay and a sold out UK tour.
Jimmy Beck, Stockton Calling co-programmer and co-owner of KU is delighter to see Corella hit his stage: “I’ve had my eye on these lads for a while now, they’ve been making a real impact at some of the UK’s biggest festivals – so it’s a real coup to get them to come to Stockton Calling while they are rocketing skywards. They’ve done Reading & Leeds, Latitude and Kendal Calling recently – so adding Stockton Calling to that list puts us in great company.”
Paul Burns of Tees Music Alliance, one of Stockton Callings organisers says: “Corella are just they kind of band that fans of the festival want and expect to see coming into Stockton. They’re on the radar of those who know the festival scene and getting the chance to see them in an intimate room, instead of a huge field is what Stockton Calling is all about.
“It’s a testament to our programming team that they’ve been able to land Corella when they are being snapped up by venues and festivals up and down the country – it’ll be great to see them on our home turf.”
Tickets for Stockton Calling are on sale now, priced at £40.
