Reliably informed

In April, the world lost one of its most pioneering and beloved musicians, Prince. Alongside a vast canon of unforgettable tunes, the Purple One also left behind a cherished movie in the form of Purple Rain. The perfect combination of music and drama, it’s almost the perfect fit for Screenage Kicks. So, in tribute to the legend, they’re showing Prince’s greatest contribution to celluloid at Wylam Brewery’s Palace of Arts, together with all the fun you’ve come to expect from the Kicks team. And yes, it’s going to be very purple.

The Screenage Kicks Allstars and some very special guests will be playing a live set filled with their own interpretations of Prince’s classics, while after reliving the grand story of The Kid there’s an opportunity to try and party as well as the Purple One in a Lovesexy dance disco rave (could you be the winner of the dance-alike contest?) Food and drink based on the man himself will also be on offer and, of course, you’re encouraged to dress like a 1st Avenue New Wave hipster (raspberry berets are very welcome). Let’s Go Crazy for one epic night!

Screenage Kicks presents Purple Rain at Wylam Brewery’s Palace of Arts on Friday 22nd July.
