The Words Weekend literary festival at Sage Gateshead takes place between Friday 6th-Sunday 8th December, and the list of authors and events is as diverse as it is exciting. From bonafide cultural icons like Grayson Perry, world renowned authors including Candice Carty-Williams and Ben Okri to musical legends like Norman Jay, there’s a little something for everyone.

In amongst that illustrious talent, you’ll also find NARC.’s humble editor Claire Dupree and NARC. writer Mark Grainger, who will be offering a very special masterclass on the art of the review on Friday 6th from 6pm. As part of the class, attendees will learn about routes to study and employment, as well as what makes a great review, get some tips on interviews and practical experience too. Attendees will then go out into the festival to review events, get constructive feedback and contribute to a special fanzine which will be distributed on the final day of the festival.

Places are free but limited, so if you’re interested in finding out more about writing, reviewing, interviewing and NARC. in general, sign up by emailing info@wordsweekend.com
