Fans of irreverent performance and unexpected delights will be thrilled to learn of PUG’s return this month, as the hit cabaret night brings all manner of comedy, dance, art and performance to The Stand, Newcastle on Sunday 25th August.
Run by performance artists Rosa Postlethwaite and Hannah Walker alongside DJ Jamie Cook, PUG’s focus lies on presenting top-notch community-driven, queer and interdisciplinary performance by exploratory and politically urgent variety acts. It’s a night where anything goes, and audiences can expect unique, honest performances from artists hailing from both the North East and beyond. Even better – all PUG performances are BSL interpreted, and there’s a cheeky disco to round off the show!
Beyond the worthy performances beats an ethical and inclusive heart; the trio are also running a mentorship programme to develop North East artists in association with the Sunday for Sammy Trust, and they’ll be hosting workshops throughout the year too – more info on both can be found on their website.
