Independent Venue Week is nearly upon us. From 27th January to 2nd February independently spirited venues come together with artists, tastemakers, promoters and media to celebrate the art of live music. Not many venues incorporate both the spirit and part of the name of the event like Independent in Sunderland does and on Monday 27th January they are kicking off the celebrations in true style as they invite Newcastle’s psychedelic doom-rockers Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs down to do a turn.

After an incredible 2019, which saw them wow audiences up and down the country and release their second album, King Of Cowards, to critical acclaim, the five-piece wall of sound have started 2020 as they mean to go on with the release of their single, Reducer, the first from their upcoming album, Viscerals. This will be the first live show of the new decade and will be no doubt be an incendiary and sweaty affair.

Adding to the darkness of the evening is Sunderland’s post-punk outfit and Moshi Moshi’s recent signing Roxy Girls.

Tickets are £10 and available here.
