The Teesside all-dayer announces the lineup for its fifth instalment, taking place on Saturday 1st July.
Stockton music festival MUNRO returns for its fifth event. This year sees the all-day event grow from two stages to four, with The Georgian Theatre, The Green Room, Ku and The Social Room all on board.
The first wave of artists have been with garage-punks Avalanche Party, Manchester indie outfit The Covasettes and Tyneside fuzz-rock quintet Pit Pony announced as headliners.
Along with the first wave of headliners, the festival announces a fine selection of artists from around the UK including Portsmouth’s Crystal Tides, Scotland’s Spyres and Rianne Downey, Leeds-based Mollie Coddled. They’ll be joined by up-and-coming artists from the region, including The Peevie Wonders, The Voyd and Dossers.
This year’s festival will be working with Sunderland festival Waves and venue Independent with The Green Room stage being dedicated to showcase a range of musicians from Sunderland. The ‘Sunderland Showcase Stage’ will provide a strong and diverse example of what Sunderland’s grassroots music scene has to offer. Acts include Pit Pony alongside synth-pop sensations noyou, indie singer-songwriter Patrick Gosling, exciting newcomer Chloe Gardner and more.
Organiser of the festival, Adam Gallagher, adds, “I believe the growth of MUNRO is down to the people who attend, I’m seeing more and more people attend each year and I think 2023 is the perfect time to expand MUNRO even more, you can see instantly that we have doubled the size of the festival from adding KU & The Social Room stages, along with the biggest line up yet.”
